We believe our xm18 outperforms its competition by any measure, especially costs. Our key customers, using xm18 for ostomy that is more than 35% thinner than the leading brands, have captured over 50% share of their served market in their primary product category in less than 18 months. We have developed a new formulation that we anticipate could revolutionize the products used specifically for managing ileostomies and urostomies, which constitute some 50% of the ostomy appliance users in the world.
We are already producing wound dressings with a high MVTR film at our new “thin standard” of 15 mils (0.38 mm). Our dressings last as long or longer than the leading brands without the distinctively disgusting odors often associated with hydrocolloids used in partial thickness wounds.

We have recently completed several new and improved xm18 formulations to serve a broad variety of needs including products requiring a higher degree of tackiness as well as those requiring less absorption such as first aid bandages. Our First Aid (FA) formulations allow strong tack and longer lasting bandages because bathing and showering no longer cause the bandages to accelerate to destruction due to excessive moisture absorption, while still maintaining a moist environment for maximum support of the body’s wound healing mechanisms.
xm18 is odorless in use because it has no animal products in its formulation, AND we maintain its integrity across all other measures, such as sensitivity, absorption, and wet and dry tack. Further, xm18's clean, white appearance may be translucent enough to observe a patient's wound during the first day or two of use! We use only pharmaceutical or food grade materials in our formulations for improved patient safety.
Due to its importance to skin barrier technology, we'll risk repeating ourselves to ensure no misunderstanding — We have no animal components (Gelatins) in our xm18 formulation. We have done extensive NAMSA skin sensitivity testing demonstrating the innocuous nature of our patented formulation. We continue to supply our original non-integrated formula, Comb 54, although not for much longer based on the successful experiences of several of our customers using integrated xm18 for ostomy products. Their volumes continue to grow rapidly with xm18 due to longer wear times, thinner profiles for ostomy appliance users, and lower costs for product as well as for freight.
